Proficiency in New-Age Media Essential, Laxity Won’t Be Tolerated: PR Commissioner Rajat Bansal
Raipur: Public Relations Commissioner Rajat Bansal on Friday chaired a review meeting at the Samvad Office with officials from the Directorate of Public Relations and District Public Relations Offices. He emphasized that in the current era, it is essential for PR officers to be proficient in all forms of new-age media.
Bansal said that adapting to evolving technology and modern communication platforms is key to effective public relations. He underlined that the role of PR officers is highly responsible, as they act as a bridge between the government and the public, and therefore must perform their duties with utmost seriousness and accountability. Any negligence in work will not be tolerated.

He further stated that the performance of every officer will now be evaluated based on outcomes. Officers were instructed to maintain regular coordination with departmental secretaries, heads of departments, and district collectors to ensure timely and effective dissemination of information, which is crucial for the proper implementation and promotion of government schemes.
The Commissioner also directed officials to maintain continuous engagement with print, electronic, and digital media to ensure wider reach and publicity of government initiatives. He stressed that officers must work proactively and responsibly so that schemes effectively reach the public.

During the meeting, instructions were also issued to initiate disciplinary action against three District Public Relations Officers for negligence in publicity work. Senior officials, including Additional Directors and district-level PR officers, were present at the meeting.
