National Teachers’ Award: Dr. Himanshu Dwivedi Says Teachers Build Nation’s Character, Culture, and Civilization

RAIPUR: Around 250 teachers from across India were felicitated for their outstanding contribution to education, innovation and nation-building at the Late Harivansh Mishra National Teachers’ Awards 2026, organised by Rashtriya Shiksha Anjor Bharat at Vimatara Bhawan in Shanti Nagar on Wednesday.
Addressing the gathering, chief guest Dr Himanshu Dwivedi, Editor-in-Chief of Haribhoomi-INH, said teachers have always occupied the highest place in India’s civilisational ethos. “A teacher shapes not only the future of students but also the character, culture and values of the nation,” he said, adding that recognising dedicated educators is a tribute to society itself.

He described the initiative of teachers honouring fellow educators at the national level as an inspiring step towards restoring the dignity of the teaching profession. He also underlined the need to blend innovation with value-based education to help build a developed India.

Speaking on the occasion, President’s Award-winning educator Dr Pragya Singh said teaching goes beyond completing the curriculum and involves nurturing students into responsible citizens. She said national recognition motivates teachers to continue striving for excellence.
The programme also paid homage to Late Harivansh Mishra, a former headmaster, acknowledging his lifelong contribution to education, discipline and social service.
The event was chaired by Dr Purnanand Mishra, National President of Rashtriya Shiksha Anjor Bharat. Patron Manoj Verma, along with Dijendra Kurre, Premchand Sahu, Dr Pragya Singh, Rinkle Bagga, Tarun Kumar Das, Pitambar Manikpuri, Ajay Kumar Jaiswal, Jitendra Mishra, Rudra Narayan Tiwari, Virendra Kumar Kar, Rita Pati, Shailendra Nayak, Manoj Muchhawad, Yogesh Singh Thakur, Gayatri Mishra, M.N. Verma, Anand Sharma and other national and state office-bearers, played a key role in organising the event.
