CG Agriculture University Paper Leak Case: Big Police Action; 6 Accused Arrested, Raids from Durg to Bilaspur, Students Also on Radar

Raipur: The Raipur Police have made a major breakthrough in the Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya (IGKV) paper leak case, arresting six accused in connection with the leakage of the “Pest Management in Crop and Stored Grains-I” question paper.

The arrests were made from Durg and adjoining areas following raids conducted across several districts, including Raipur, Durg, Kawardha, Rajnandgaon and Bilaspur. Police said the accused were identified through technical investigation and analysis of mobile chats.

More Than 16 People Questioned

According to police, more than 16 people have so far been questioned in connection with the case. Two students from Kawardha were also questioned during the investigation.

Police officials said their probe has indicated that some students may also have been involved in the paper leak. Investigators are now trying to establish the complete chain—from the source of the question paper to its circulation on WhatsApp and other social media platforms.

An FIR in the case has been registered at Telibandha Police Station in Raipur.

When students entered the examination hall, they reportedly found that the question paper was the same as the one that had already been circulating on WhatsApp, triggering serious questions over the security and credibility of the university examination system.

The issue also sparked protests on the university campus. On Friday, NSUI state president Neeraj Pandey led a demonstration and gherao of the university administration, demanding strict action against those responsible for the alleged leak.

CM Sai Had Ordered Strict Action

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai had earlier taken serious note of the incident and directed officials to ensure a fair and detailed investigation.

The Chief Minister said that no compromise would be tolerated with the transparency and credibility of examinations in the state and that strict action should be taken against anyone attempting to disrupt the examination process or jeopardise the future of students.

Following his directions, the university administration constituted a five-member inquiry committee to investigate the matter.

Police to Reveal Details at 12 Noon

The Raipur Police are scheduled to hold a press conference at 12 noon today, where they are expected to disclose details of the investigation, including the role of the arrested accused, the suspected source of the leaked paper and the manner in which it was circulated.

With six arrests already made and students also coming under the scanner, the investigation is now likely to focus on identifying the entire network behind the alleged paper leak.
