Heavy Rain Floods Runway at Bilaspur Airport, Delhi Flight Diverted to Raipur; Passengers Face Inconvenience

Bilaspur. Heavy rainfall on Saturday caused waterlogging on the runway at Bilaspur Airport in Chhattisgarh, leading to the diversion of an IndiGo flight coming from Delhi to Raipur Airport. The sudden change in flight plans created significant inconvenience for passengers, many of whom expressed frustration and anger over the situation.

According to reports, the runway became unfit for landing due to excessive water accumulation. As a safety precaution, Air Traffic Control diverted the flight to Raipur. Meanwhile, family members of the passengers waited for hours at Bilaspur Airport, expecting the flight to arrive on time.

Several passengers criticized the airline and local authorities, alleging a lack of preparedness during the monsoon season. They argued that contingency plans should have been in place to handle such weather-related disruptions. Many also voiced their dissatisfaction on social media platforms.

The Bilaspur Airport authorities stated that efforts are underway to drain the water from the runway. Normal flight operations will resume once the situation is under control and the runway is cleared for safe use.
